Merry christmas! (:

Merry christmas everyone! And happy boxing day! Haha.

Havent been doing much lately, my life's pretty much routine. Since bf's working noon shift for the past wk, we didnt have time t meet alot, only when he has off/half days or we'll just have brunch tgt before he goes work. So i've been a good girl for the past wk, spending my time studying when i have no classes. :D

I've got so much t blog about (this wk and also last wk) so this is gonna be a really long post, and prob also the last post of the yr. Kinda excited about the new yr though. New yr new beginnings right? Hopefully 2013 would be a much better yr! (:

We managed t visit a few new places in these 2 wks. Yayyy (striking more names off the list)! I brought baby t Poulet aft my class and his work on sat for our late lunch cum early dinner since we always didnt know what t eat at bugis and always end up going t the same places like Lenas/Yayoiken(oh actually this was the wk before last, super overdue =/ ). I've been wanting t try their chicken after seeing quite a number of reviews, but as compared t the chicken, i think im more interested t try their tiramisu. Lol
We went arnd 5pm and there wasnt much crowd yet so we didnt have t queue nor wait for seats. But crowd did start t come awhile after we've placed our orders. We ordered half a chicken t share, sauteed mushrooms w poached eggs and of course tiramisu!

The first dish t come was the chicken instead of the mushrooms.
Poulet roti, $15.80
Shldnt the mushrooms come first since its an appetiser? But instead the main dish came first. I've never understood why such things happen. I think restaurants shld always serve their food by order, appetisers followed by mains then desserts, and not depending on which one's ready t be served first.

So, when they served the chicken, the boy started t cut them into pieces so tt its easier for us t eat. He always does tt, so 体贴 right? Hehe. But while he was cutting the meat, he realised tt one part of it doesnt look like it's fully cooked yet, so we informed one of the staff and requested for it t be replaced.

This time, the mushrooms came before the chicken (tt shld be the right way whatttt).
Saute wild mushroom, $7.80
Im a fan of sauteed mushrooms and this is pretty good, though i didnt quite uds why they added the poached egg on top. It wasnt poached perfectly like those you'll get when you order egg benedicts. The portion's quite big for one, thus it'd be good for sharing. Even though we shared the mushrooms, bf thought it was getting abit 'gelat', but i find it alright. Maybe it's the garlic taste, since he doesnt like garlic. Lol.

Soon the chicken was being served again. It was better this time round, but the part near the wing was still abit red. It's not raw, but prob just merely cooked. We didnt bother t change again this time round cos it was too troublesome and since we've alrd ate half of it, its not very nice t change again.

Idk if our appetites are small or what (cos tts what my friends will usually say), but we were alrd a lil full after finishing the mushrooms and chicken. Its finally time for dessert!
Tiramisu, $7.80
And i wld say tt the tiramisu is prob the star of the meal. The serving's huge, prob a lil too much for one, it was just nice for the both of us. It really tasted as good as everyone says, unlike the chicken. =/ I think i'll prob come back for the tiramisu instead of the chicken, but its kinda weird right, t go t somewhere which specializes in selling chicken and yet we go just t eat tiramisu? Haha. Chicken or meat wise i think we'd prefer and prob go t the rotisserie instead of going back t poulet. For about the same price you get both quality and quantity! (:

Since the boy was off last tues, we decided t go for brunch! Havent had brunch for a really long time and was craving for big breakfast or anything similar, even mcdonald's will do. But sadly, mac doesnt have all day breakfast and neither do alot of places which has brunch on a weekday. Most of them only serve brunch until 11am, and since we were up a lil late tt day, we decided t go t Loysel's Toy since they have all day brunch (YAYYY)!

The place was pretty ulu and it was raining tt day, thank god bf was driving over. We found out tt there's a bus stop outside which we could alight there and walk in, but it'd take quite awhile cos its located quite far in from the bus stop.

I think the cafes under this 'family tree' are always located at those ulu and unexpected places. I really like their concept though, tt they'll always have outdoor and indoor seatings. It was surprisingly crowded even on a rainy tuesday.
Ootd: TTR's continental peplum top, zara's jeggings, longchamp bag & jelly wedge from bkk
Indoor area, which is also where you place your orders
Outdoor area, which is really good for chilling esp on a rainy day!
They even provide bike rental service for customers t cycle arnd the area
Their menu, which looks pretty much like CSHH's
The thing about their cafes are tt they usually focus more on coffee and the selections for food are quite limited. So i guess it'll be more suitable if you wanna chill w your friends over coffee and cakes/pastries. Food wise, i think there're better options out there. =/

We ordered an iced latte, since coffee is what they're popular for, and bf ALWAYS orders latte. Lol. I ordered the big l's breakfast since i was craving for tt, bf ordered the black pepper beef sandwich.
They used paper cups for their waiting numbers. So different!
Iced latte, $5.50. (bf was wearing the kobe bryant shirt i gave him if you notice. hehe)
Big L's breakfast, $15
Black pepper beef sandwich, $13
The latte was expectedly good, since we've tried the ones at CSHH before. The big breakfast was just alright, nothing out of the norm ): It did satisfy my cravings for big breakfast sets though. Haha. The beef sandwich was average as well. Im usually quite picky about steaks cos i dont fancy those tt're too tough or chewy, and t me, this is tough and chewy. Even bf (who's not as fussy as me) finds them a lil tough and he thinks it'll be better for them t cut the beef into smaller slices instead of putting one whole slice cos it's super difficult t bite it off. You'll end up pulling the whole piece of beef out instead of biting it off.

We ordered lemon tart & the chocolate ganache cake for desserts. And they actually served them even before our mains were being served. Another weird place, or am i weird? =/ We actually started eating our desserts first cos we were too hungry, and by the time the mains came, we've alrd finished like half of the desserts. Lol
Lemon tart, $4.50
Chocolate ganache cake, $6.50
The boy doesnt really like lemon tarts cos he thinks they have the iron taste. But i love lemon tarts! So most of the time i'll finish almost the whole tart myself and force one or two mouths into his mouth. Hehe. The lemon tart is more buttery as compared t others, which makes it taste like you're eating pineapple tarts (those tw kinds). The crust is not as hard as compared t the ones at carpenter and cook, which makes it easier t cut and eat.

The chocolate ganache cake was not bad, but it could get a lil dry after eating too much. We didnt finish it in the end, cos we were too full and it was getting abit 'gelat'.

I doubt i'll come back for meals, prob just during teatime for coffee and desserts. I think i'd rather go t habitat coffee for brunch (bf loves their banana pancakes!)

Oh! Besides studying, i also spent some time doing these bracelets.
jocobana.livejournal.com
I havent been taking any preorders for them for quite awhile since i wanted t spend more time studying, but since someone emailed t enquire, i decided t take her order and also earn some cash (: Ended up using the money i earned t shop, still had t top up myself somemre. ): Really needa stop looking at blogshop updates and stop shopping and buying stuff! But since it was christmas, i gave myself an excuse t do some shopping. Hehe

Didnt meet the boy until friday, we went for lunch before he starts work. Went Saveur for lunch, and thankfully we didnt really have t queue cos we reached there just when they opened for lunch!

I visit Saveur at least once every 1-2 mths cos i find the food their really worth the money and very affordable! The portion may be small for some though, but its enough for us. Haha. Even if we're not full after our mains and desserts, we'll drop by at ah chew's for second round! :D We didnt order our usual tiger prawn pasta (it wasnt on their new menu anm! ): ) and duck confit tt day. I decided t try sth new so i ordered chicken roulade and bf order pork belly.
Chicken roulade, $9.90
Pork belly, $10.90
The chicken roulade was really good and tender. For the price you pay, you even get foie gras! And cos the rice was cream based, it was a lil filling for me. The pork belly on the other hand, wasnt as nice as the one we had the other time. ): The skin wasnt as crispy anm, like turned abit soggy alrd.

We ordered the cookies n' milk for desserts since its their specials on tt day.
Cookies n' milk, $9.90
It looks like foam when it came. Even after eating, i still cant tell what it was cos its a pretty interesting dish. There was hazelnuts, peanut butter, cherries and those popping candy tt will pop in your mouth after eating! Weird combination as it is, yet taste very well all together!

Went t TTR's and TVD's office later tt day t collect my clothes! Hehe. Got the bandaged top from TTR during their 15% off sales and the leather shorts from TVD. Yina was so sweet t include some samples and also snacks when she packed my shorts into the plastic bag!
My retail therapy didnt stop here (of course not). =/ Went shopping w mummy and aunt on sunday and since Kissjane was having the $10 off voucher promo, i bought another knitted top which i've wanted t buy previously and it was only $19 after discount! Cheap thrill! Haha

Saw this christmas tree at citylink while shopping. So cute right! So many unicorns! Made the festive season feel even more fairytale-like.

I cant wait t wear my new clothes out, and since it looks like its gonna rain, i decided t wear the knitted top along w the leather shorts the very next day!
Idk why the pic looks abit blur. It looks alright on baby's phone but after he sent t me it looks blur on my phone ):
We went t Hoshino Coffee for lunch before catching wreck it ralph.
Im aware tt it's quite popular ever since the new wing at Plaza Singapura opened and tt there's always a queue whenever we walked pass. I thought it wldnt be tt bad since we reached arnd 2pm, which was alrd past lunch time. But i was so wrong. There were at least 5 groups of people in front of us, and it took about 15-20mins for us t be seated. Thank god we were earlier by abit. After we've placed our orders, the queue became even longer!
I think all restaurants shld have this, so tt service would be more effecient.
We didnt order the hand drip coffee even though it seems like its what they're popular for. Instead, we ordered iced cafe latte (again) w softee.
Iced cafe latte w softee, $7.80
The softee added sweetness t the coffee, it was like having affogato, but instead of espresso, it was latte. The softee was so good, they reminded me of my childhood fav softee from 7-11. It was more dense as compared t mcdonald's vanilla icecream.

I ordered curry pot rice and bf ordered the fuwa fuwa. I wanted t try their souffle pancakes, but had i feeling i wouldnt like them cos it's kinda think. And im glad i didnt try it cos i overheard the lady beside us saying tt it tasted like mcdonald's hotcakes. =/
Curry pot rice, $15
Fuwa fuwa, $15.80
It's actually sth like baked rice, but instead of cheese, it was souffle on top.
We really liked the curry rice! It doesnt taste like the usual japanese curry you could get from supermarkets or some restaurants. I prefer their version of japanese curry, not spicy yet not overly sweet as well. And they used quite a decent amount of minced beef for the rice, which makes it worth the price, though its a lil above average. The fuwa fuwa was interesting. I think they're probably the only place selling sth like tt? At least they're the only ones i've seen. It's nice for a try, cos it's really different from the normal japanese dishes. But it may be abit plain cos i dont think there's meat in it, or maybe very lil meat according t the boy. And towards the end, you'll prob get a bit sick of it cos there's too much souffle. =/

We were quite full after our mains but i was so tempted t try their desserts so we ordered the matcha parfait since their softee left us quite an impression.
Matcha parfait, $12
It was a lil expensive for a dessert, as compared t their mains. I wouldnt say it's worth the price either. I think i'd rather get their softee cone for just $5.80. No doubt their softees are really good though!

Christmas was pretty simple for us cos we dont really celebrate it. Stayed home w a few friends, watch movies and tv. Bf's mum prepared christmas lunch for us!

Okay, shall end this post w some pictures. Thanks for reading! I know it's a really long post. Lol.

Merry x'mas and happy boxing day! And happy new year in advance! (:

I think i look like darwin from the cartoon show, Gumball. Lol
Bf looks so funny here!
